ADAGIO Featuring MATS LEVÉN: Paris Footage Available
April 2, 2010Fan-filmed video footage of ADAGIO's March 31, 2010 performance at Elysée Montmartre in Paris, France as the support act for KAMELOT can be viewed below.
ADAGIO has recruited Swedish vocalist Mats Levén (KRUX, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, THERION, TREAT) for the French neo-classical metallers' current European tour with KAMELOT.
Commented ADAGIO guitarist Stéphan Forté: "Mats is an incredible singer and performer, with a tremendous technique. His unique tone, both aggressive and melodic, fits ADAGIO's music wonderfully."
ADAGIO recently parted ways with Finnish singer Christian Palin, a decision the band said it "needed to take as soon as possible for the best of ADAGIO."
"Archangels In Black", the latest album from ADAGIO, was released in February 2009 via Listenable Records. The cover artwork was created by Guilherme Sevens and the CD was mastered at the Cutting Room in Sweden with Björn Engelmann (RAMMSTEIN, MESHUGGAH).
According to a press release, "without being a concept album, 'Archangels In Black' evokes the band's convictions about a certain Nightside philosophy and a very personal approach of life and death." Forté says, "Darkness is a concept with many branches, often misunderstood from outside, but elemental for some kind."
"Archangels In Black" was the first — and last — CD to feature Palin.
Palin was previously a member of the Swedish/Finnish bands ESSENCE OF SORROW and RANDOM EYES.
